Bailey Lighthouse is a picturesque lighthouse located on the southeastern part of Howth Head in County Dublin, Ireland. It overlooks the Irish Sea and offers stunning views, making it a popular spot for both tourists and locals.The original lighthouse on Howth Head was built in 1667, but due to its position being too high, it was often obscured by fog.
The current Bailey Lighthouse was constructed in 1814 and began operation in 1816. It was designed by George Halpin, a notable Irish civil engineer.The area around Bailey Lighthouse is renowned for its scenic beauty, including cliffs, sea views, and rich wildlife.
It is a great spot for bird watching, and occasionally, seals and dolphins can be spotted in the waters below.
